In the main square in Bariloche are many stenciled headscarves, the symbol of the mothers of Argentina's "Disappeared" - the many people who were probably murdered by the military dictatorship in the 70s & 80s.
Although some of the perpetrators have been brought to justice, many of the guilty still have wealth and influence in the country, so the fight goes on. The stencils are found in Buenos Aires and probably many other cities in Argentina.
In the same square there is a statue of General Roca, responsible for waging war against the indigenous Mapuche in the ninteenth century and opening the way for Europeaan settlement of the area. The statue is regularly defaced with graffitti denouncing the general as a murderer and assassin. As soon as it is cleaned up, it is covered in graffitti again.
It's good that the wronged have a voice, even if it is hard to make themselves heard sometimes.
