Sunday morning in Makarska, on the Dalmatian Riviera. I could hear singing coming from the church as people arrived for mass. Others were enjoying a coffee or a stroll along the waterfront, enjoying the autumnal sunshine.
The drive along the coast from Split to Dubrovnik was spectacular. The mountains come down to the sea in places, bringing to mind Highway One through Big Sur.
